This DMF Lighting M-Series 4" Fire Rated Square New Construction Housing with battery backup and integrated test switch is made to be installed in open ceilings with access to joists.

Features:

For use with 1,000 lumen DRD2 and DRD4 TRIAC/ELV dimmable LED modules and M Series square trims
Junction Box: Equipped with 12 knockouts: four 1 / 2" trade size knockouts on side, two 3 / 4" and two 1 / 2" trade size knockouts on top and four romex knockouts on top. Approved for 8 (four in, four out) #12 AWG 70°C.
Mounting: Adjustable bar hangers for 13-24" joist spacing. Compatible with traditional joists, Armstrong™, Hat Channel, and T-Bar
Ceiling: 4" square opening with pre-installed mounting brackets that allow vertical adjustment of bar hangers 1 / 2" to 1 1 / 4"
Listings: Metallic outlet box certified UL514A, code compliant for use in appropriate fire-rated assemblies for up to 2-hours, STC/IIC Sound Rated, ASTM E283 certified Air Tight, IC (Insulation Contact) Rated, Compliant to FCC Title 47 Part 15; Class B
Emergency Battery Specifications: 90 minutes of illumination time
Integrated Test Switch: Requires Compatible trim available in flanged, standard style only (M4TSSxxEM)
